“The Physics Professor” has been selected in the upcoming exhibition Give Me Some Skin at Sugarlift Gallery in New York City. The show, curated by Michelle Doll and Jason Patrick Voegele, features work from 23 other figurative artists including Bernardo Torrens, Alyssa Monks, Steve Assael, Daniel Maidman, and Aleah Chapin. The exhibition is summarized by the gallery as: “Thick, thin, flaccid, taut, wet, chapped, young and old—skin is the incredible yet fragile barrier that divides our inner and outer worlds while connecting us to one another. We long for the repeat pleasures of a loving embrace or a warm hug from a friend. Lived experiences are woven into the surface of our bodies: scars tell stories, tattoos chronicle milestones, and stretch marks highlight our resilience. Skin maps our unique selves, and tells the story of how we each exist within it.”
The opening will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Attendees are asked to register here and plan to wear a mask and observe social distancing.
